Can you try and figure out what picture/avatar is linked to tattoohunter.net and remove it? Been getting this warning in multiple threads (my birthday thread, MLB thread and others) and I'm pretty sure it's tied to a specific user.

Thanks.

It is a user's avatar.

FWIW, I get no warnings on pages with that avatar. Maybe my protection sucks?!?!?!?!

Google Chrome is presenting the warning.

Now you got me worried. I figured it means I'm safe but maybe I am getting screwed ... otoh, the other references say they are being redirected to another page and that's not happening, so ...

I'm the guilty one I believe. I will change my avatar and hopefully the problem with go away.

What's odd is I've had this particular avatar (maori shark) for a long time, over a year, and never received the warning I saw last night. And the warning (for me anyway) only occurs in the baseball thread, and only on my home pc.

At any rate, sorry about that!

Are avatars uploaded directly to the board's server or are they hyperlinked (which is what it sounds like from Shawn's description)? If the latter and your avatar is actually hosted on tattoo-hunter.com, then if that site got hacked this week it's possible your avatar's URL now points to a file containing malware instead of the usual picture.

Oh - more likely in fact is that Google may have blacklisted tattoo-hunter.com for some reason (like a Google server recently crawled them and found malware SOMEWHERE on that domain), which is why Shawn's getting the warning in Chrome even though other antivirus software isn't detecting any actual virus.

Mine was hyperlinked. I hadn't even thought to check that previously. I now am using a file I saved to my hard drive and uploaded as my avatar, so hopefully the problem won't come back.

I'm guessing you're right - that tattoo hunter website got hacked in the last day or so, otherwise the error message would have shown up long ago.

Why would anyone use Chrome? I tried it for a month on a pc and finally deleted it. I dumped it because one night while closing it, after a fairly long wait, I got a message saying "Chrome isn't finished collecting data" or some such shit. I deleted it asap.
