paul secor Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 "Yogi" makes more sense than most critics. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 That was great, thanks for the laugh!!! Quote
sonnymax Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 Funny? Sort of. Genuine? No. This "interview" is a fake, one of many written by people emulating "yogiims" to explain/entertain about a vast array of topics. Quote
alocispepraluger102 Posted September 6, 2012 Author Report Posted September 6, 2012 speaking of yogiisms on our favorite subject, a fine local guitarist with a degree in jazz performance and composition from duquesne university, calls jazz "just another form of masturbation". Quote
sonnymax Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 "Yogiisms": pithy comments and witticisms...[that] very often take the form of either an apparently obvious tautology, or a paradoxical contradiction. I Jazz isn't masturbation, as your friend so inelegantly claims, but it could arguably be seen by some as "masturbatory" (i.e., excessively self-absorbed or self-indulgent). Then again, the same might be said about an inordinate amount of threads about inconsequential topics that rarely produce meaningful discussion. Quote
GA Russell Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Apropos, I have come across an old article that mentions a couple of Yogi-isms. "My little son can't wait to shave, so he can grow a beard." At a store selling fishing equipment, a sign advertised, "All the worms you want for a dollar." Yogi asked for $2 worth. Quote
gmonahan Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 My personal favorite Yogism: "When you come to a fork in the road, take it." gregmo Quote
