After an excellent first set, the second Ari Hoenig set kept cutting out on me until I gave up. And I was having similar problems with the Eric Revis group with Darius Jones last night. kh1958 Posted September 16, 2013 Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 I previously noticed that a couple of favorite Smalls regulars/semi-regulars--Melissa Aldana and Tivon Penicott--were among the semifinalists in the 2013 Thelonious Monk saxophone competition. Through our connections with Jazz At Lincoln Center (thank you Greg Scoll!), we met a master piano restorer who found us an amazing, flawless Steinway that we got for cost. This was one of our biggest goals and I'm really happy to say that we got it done. Watch for this piano to be installed by late November.
