What's the Zappa quote about jazz?

"It'snot dead but it smells" or something like that? I think someone here used it as a signature. But I got into my car this morning and my iPod starts into the middle of a really good driving vibes solo and I can't recall what it's from. Turns out it's from Zappa live at the Capital Theater in 1978 from Wolfgang's Vault. Sure sounds like jazz to me.

He says it during the song Bebop Tango on the Roxy and Elsewhere album. There is jazz on that album, such as a trombone solo by Bruce Fowler on the song Echidna's Arf.

Tongue in cheek remark. Zappa listened to and played a lot of jazz, and he hired quite a few jazz musicians for his bands.

Yeah Zappa could count real well, but for someone with such a dirty guitar sound he sure spawned a lot of antiseptic Fusion. And the awful Steve Vai Hair Metal -in complex time signatures genre.
