NBA 2012 -- 2013

Howard will never win anything in the NBA....

Hopefully the Lakers let him go on his way

Lakers won't win anything with what they have...

With Kobe looking possibly as much missing the entire next season...Nash going on 60....and D'Antoni the coach. D'Antoni has no clue how to coach Gasol, or Howard, or for that matter most everyone not named Nash.

They should do a sign and trade with Howard (by doing it that way....he makes more money and they get something in return.) and amnesty Kobe. He still get's paid his $30 million but they don't have to face close to $100 in luxary tax on top of the team payroll.

They could use the money to start the rebuilding. It gives Kobe a chance to rehab a year and then they can resign him if he is able to play. Do they have any of their draft picks left for the next couple years?

The Mamba will be in the starting line-up for the 2013/14 season opener

I doubt that. Even taking into account how hard he works out....he probably will be lucky if he's only out 9 months. I would be more confident if he went to one of the best foot/ankle specialist.

You have to remeber the whole 6 to 9 month thing is ffor the normal person. Not a athelete of Kobe's abilities, age, and wear and tear on his legs already. I couldn't even find any NBA player who previously came back from that injury. He's going to be putting a lot more stress on it than the normal person recovering.

The average NFL player were it's more common takes about 11 months to recover.

I'd like to see Howard in a Rockets uni. I think he could fit in well with Harden & Lin - maybe they replace Parsons or Asik with him.

Didn't seem like he ever complemented Gasol very well, and had a difficult time exerting dominance on the floor while Kobe was out there, too. Just didn't fit the Lakers very well.

Lin is a great story, but it is readily apparent why the Knicks didn't match his over inflated salary as Houston highly over paid for a guy who is only a 'nice' player.

L.A. is the place where Howard will get paid the most and will rake in the outside endorsements, but who knows with him?

I don't speak for the other folks here in Seattle, but in my humble opinion the NBA can go curl itself around a big fire hydrant and relieve itself. Now perhaps we can save the $200 million in public funds that were to be wasted on a basketball arena and fix up our city parks instead.

I followed the Sonics back in the day but eventually lost interest and switched my allegiance to college hoops (University of Washington). Yes, it would be nice to have a pro basketball team in town again, but now that the NBA has screwed us twice it's time to give up and move on to more important things. Like for instance, the Seahawks.

Spice it up and celebrate the old ABA by breaking out the red white & blue basketballs. Not that that would have sexed up the Nets-Spurs finals from 10 years ago. Actually I'd be more than okay with the Pacers in the finals (and that's not because they aren't the Heat).
