Fathead: Ray Charles Presents David Newman

I noticed that this has been recently released as a single CD in England. Is there any word about this being reissued in the US? I know it was available as part of a 4LP/2CD set issued a few years back. I missed that 2CD set but have since picked up House of David, Fathead Comes On and Straight Ahead on Collectables.

If no, does anyone have any leads as to where I can purchase this disc? Thanks.

For me this is still the best album Fathead ever made, so soulful, as if he poured everything he had into it. Ray Charles really supports him on this one: He never did that on any of the Hank Crawford albums! Newman was and is something special.

Sounds like a great candidate for a U.S. re-issue--hell, with that lineup, I'd even be willing to shell out for a Rhino Handmade, if that was the only way they could put it out.

This has been released in the US agian! I got one from Fathead himself about 6 weeks ago at one of his shows. He told me it had just be released and that it was his first recording. Great music!

This hasn't been released in the US. I believe it's only been released in Europe as part of the Warner Jazz Masters Series. I have the European version.
