Hardbopjazz Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 I liked his books, and the movies made from the books were usually just as good.http://news.yahoo.com/best-selling-author-tom-clancy-died-age-66-152101522.html Quote
GA Russell Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Clancy is one of those popular writers that I have meant to get around to reading but never have. Maybe this will spur me to read The Hunt for Red October. RIP. http://www.latimes.com/books/jacketcopy/la-et-jc-tom-clancy-dies-at-66-20131002,0,1266945.story Quote

gmonahan Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 I liked the early books, but as he got famous, his books became somewhat jingoistic, and I found it hard to get past that. I did like his work ethic and his fairly honest take on writing--that it's hard work and one just has to do it. gregmo Quote
