mikelz777
This is pretty hot! On The Tonight Show last night, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Roots performing a cover of Funkadelic's "Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On." I hope they keep this link alive for a while. Turn the volume way up and check it out!http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/6501
BFrank
This was pretty funny in the segment before - a 'drum-off' between Chad Smith and amazing look-alike, Will Farrell.
jazzbo
I really wanted to like the "battle" and the song but neither did much to me. I'm officially old! Thank goodness.
Shawn
When I get to the point where I realize I'm officially old I'm jumping off the Hollywood sign.
BFrank
Really the only funny thing about the 'battle' is how much those 2 guys look alike. The bit was...........well, a "bit". While I like Fallon better than Leno, what's becoming obvious is the SNL-ization of NBC late night programming. It's all the same now. mikeweil
I'm getting old, too, but obviously stayed young enough inside to appreciate this.
mikelz777
The original song came out when I was a teenager but I've kept an appreciation for some good funk/soul/rock over the many years. I was reading a book and not really paying attention when the song came on. Once it started up, it made me put my book down!
jazzbo
I can appreciate some good funk/soul/rock, I just didn't consider that song to fall into that category.. Other's mileage definitely differs. Shawn, don't worry, you'll realize you're old one day. . . and you might find you're happy about it! I think I am. There are many aspects of "youth" that I haven't wanted to hold on to.
