Or returned to the artists. Yup, that's an alternative. I know that with any of my releases, it was a buyout from the artist. (Artist meaning the graphic person, not the musical one. That's what you meant, too, isn't it?) Quote

It's entirely plausible that he purchased them from the record company (and probably for a very sweet price). Quote
