Shit. I'm tired of shoveling. We've got to be at least 2 feet plus high winds and it's friggin cold....

Yeah, and ain't it just awesome to get all geared up to go out and shovel only to be sweating your ass off 10 minutes later?

I definitely sympathize. I wouldn't wish shoveling two feet of snow on anyone. I consider myself to be in pretty damned good shape, but it's back-breaking no matter how good of shape you're in. Sounds like it's the drier stuff, though. That's one saving grace…though not much of one...

I shoveled a pathway in front and in the back of the house so the dogs could run out and do there business. Not even beginning to attempt to shovel the driveway since it's still snowing here and the drifts continue to pile up. I'm glad to be off this week. Latest calculation is about 2 feet.

Is that at your Maine location, or your NY location?

Wells, Maine location. Plows just arrived and I have some shoveling, but minimal at this point. Two more storms on the way for Friday and Monday. Oh boy.

I live about 10 miles south of Buffalo in Orchard Park, NY In late November - in a storm hence christened "Snowvember" - the the southern half of Buffalo and the entire tier of towns south of Buffalo - known as the snow belt and ski country in our area - were pounded with 6.5 to 7 feet of snow over a couple of day period,

13 people died. The majority of deaths were due to heart attacks associated with shoveling. Local health officials warned anyone 50 years and older to use extreme caution and awareness when attempting to shovel. Given the demographics of this board - I just thought I'd pass along the words of caution.

I went to school in Buffalo. I remember well that if Buffalo got hit, the "snow belt" (south of Buffalo) got buried.

I'm so sorry KB. I think we got two feet. Finally dug out though... Go easy on the Aleve as we all have back pain from this storm.

We wound up with ~32 inches. We just finished digging out.
