bigbandrecord Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) I don't know If there's an existing thread on this subject, but it's getting real aggravating to be waiting in some cases over a year for an item to get back in stock and there's at least 11 items out of the 30 or so that are so-called back-ordered. They might as well be OOP. The reasoning for all these back-ordered items is supposedly a lack of funds. Well how are you going to have funds with dwindling or no products to sell. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing. If the CD selling business is that bad then I apologize for posting this. And by the way unscrupulous secondary market merchants sometimes as much as double the price on these back-ordered Mosaic items as if they were OOP so that's why I said they might as well be OOP. $169-299 for a back-ordered Louis Armstrong 7CD set for example. alankin Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) I can understand the frustration, but I think that the CD business is that difficult. They have to press a substantial amount of CDs with each re-pressing. I imagine that keeping everything in print all the time would result in a bigger inventory (and warehouse space) than they can afford. Edited February 25, 2017 by alankin Quote
BFrank Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 I remember that the Threadgill box was back ordered for about a year (or more), but it DID become available again. Glad I got a copy! Quote
sidewinder Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 I guess the modus operandi these days with Mosaics is - once they become available again from backorder, pick them up. There are a few in the current backorder list that I would like to have. Can't be easy for them ! 5 hours ago, BFrank said: I remember that the Threadgill box was back ordered for about a year (or more), but it DID become available again. Glad I got a copy! A fascinating box and if it hadn't been for the set I would have probably passed on Mr Threadgill's work. Now in 'running low'. Quote
hbbfam Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 I ordered the Woody Shaw Muse Box about a year ago, and it arrived about a month ago. I tried to order the Benny Goodman Box, and that one is back-ordered until late fall (at least). Quote

xybert Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Lol, i've been frustrated by this at times too! #humanalltoohuman #notzenyet #firstworldproblems #fuckmeforwantingthatsweetsweetmosaicgoodness But yeah, i get it. I do consider back-ordered items to be OOP for all intents and purposes until further notice. Count your blessings if they become available again (i know i was overjoyed when i got my Ellington small groups set). Quote
