Eddie Bert tells a good story about it: "...[Hawkins] had just off a plane, and his horn had come through baggage. so we were forthy-five minutes into the date and he was still oiling his horn. We had no music and the producer got nervous. Well, we did the whole date with head arrangements and finished on time. My feet were tingling. My wife took my temperature when I got home (apparently Bert had the flu]; it was 104 degrees. I wasn't going to give up that date, temperature or not." Quote

duaneiac Posted June 16, 2017 Report Posted June 16, 2017 There is something so satisfying and uplifting on "The Love I Lost" when Brother Teddy calls upon one and all to stand up and testify, to join in and sing/confess that "I lost it / Sorry I lost it". It's a quasi-religious disco experience.- something we just don't encounter these days. Quote
