Very nice. :tup

Thanks!  I started a thread about this a while back in the "recommendations" sub-form called something like "pulplish nourish standards."  It is a work in progress, and I am always up for additions!

No Ella in the list and missing also some of my favorite vocal groups

Most of my Ella and vocal groups are on LP, so I was limited to what I had digitally.

Setting aside your legitimate complaint, what do you think of the song selection?  I am going for noirish, world-weary, pulpish lyrics, capturing the mid-20th-century mood of urban isolation, with Cainesque, Chandleresque language.  Here is the thread I started a while back:

How about Arlen's & Mercer's "Blues in the Night"?  Sinatra's classic version works--but  Billy Eckstine's version (with Billy May's arrangement) is every bit as good:

A song about a no-good woman is right up noir alley.  ;)

SFJazz Collective “The Music of Antonio Carlos Jobim & Original Compositions” disc 1

I really like these interpretations and the original works.

I'm sorry  I cant help you on this topic or make suggestions  because  I'm mostly  collecting instrumental music and only a few favorite vocals (Louis & Ella) & the Frosh, Hi-Los & Singers Unlimited + Frank naturally. Many of your Sinatra songs are here in the  FS collection my late wife left me.

Starting off the morning with Bill Evans “Turn Out the Stars” disc 4. Seems perfect for the quiet stillness of the neighborhood and my mind.
