HutchFan Posted August 2, 2022 Report Posted August 2, 2022 Now spinning: Mel Torme - That's All (Columbia, 1965) CD reissue with bonus cuts As much old-fashioned pop and "easy-listening" as it is jazz -- but excellent music, regardless of category. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 2, 2022 Report Posted August 2, 2022 Ornette Coleman "Tomorrow is the Question" Contemporary/Craft Records SACD Nice mastering. Quote

Jim Duckworth Posted August 3, 2022 Report Posted August 3, 2022 I followed the discussion of this earlier and then actually heard a cut on the radio, purchased a physical copy, and now I can't leave it alone. Proto-Strata East! Quote
jazzbo Posted August 3, 2022 Report Posted August 3, 2022 Started off this morning with this Pablo cd, Sarah Vaughan "The Ellington Songbook Vol. One." Hadn't played it in quite some time. Not a favorite Sarah. Then moved on to "The Real Tania Maria: Wild" Concord cd which features some amazing bass work by John Pena. And now it's Ella Fitzgerald with Count Basie Orchestra on Pablo cd, "A Classy Pair." Quote
HutchFan Posted August 3, 2022 Report Posted August 3, 2022 And now the sequel: Richie Beirach - Ballads II (Sony Japan, 1987) Quote
