Brave man, great artist in troubled times and beyond.

"I ve always liked to listen to his "Rex Casino".

The above pictured book, Coco´s moving account of his astonishing life, is a stunning read and thus highly recommended to everybody interested in history, jazz, Berlin, strength of man and of course Coco himself.

I happened to see Esther Bejarano, who also survived Auschwitz and had played in the orchestra there, in a talk show last night, and she said how few of them were still alive ...

On a side note, her daugher Edna isn't totally unknown on the German scene either:

What she recorded with the Rattles of course wasn't the "real (Rattles) thing" any longer (but a second incarnation that went in quite a different direction) but it did make a splash at the time and brought back the name for a while.
