clifford_thornton Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 The Pearls Before Swine singer and songwriter Thomas (or Tom) Rapp has passed after a battle with cancer, according to Damon Krukowski (Galaxie 500 / friend and collaborator). I first heard his music at about age 21; didn't know much about 'psychedelic folk' at the time, and probably still don't, but the stretch of recordings under the Pearls' guise (ESP & Reprise) is still mind-blowing. He later became a civil rights lawyer and did good for a lot of people. Quote
Joe Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 A sad loss. Underrated songwriter and apparently a fine person. Quote
Stereojack Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 The first Pearls Before Swine album (on ESP) was a favorite of mine back in 1967. Followed his musical path for the next few years. RIP. Quote
