For its first releases under new ownership, Delmark will release a blues anthology marking the label’s 65th anniversary; a recording featuring Volcano Radar with reedist and NEA Jazz Master Paquito D’Rivera; an album spotlighting esteemed Chicago guitarist Fareed Haque; a collection of previously unreleased recordings by avant-garde jazz icon Sun Ra; and what’s being billed as a “surprise” recording.

That will get some people's attention round here.

Huh. Will be curious to see how and what they do in the future, though admittedly I wasn't sure how hands-on Koester had been for a while.

Bob Koester purchased Sackville  records not long after the death of the owner, my close friend John Norris. Koster has reissued quite a few Sackville sessions since he took ownership. Wonder how the sale of Delmark will impact the future of Sackville?
