Dan Gould Posted June 22, 2018 Report Posted June 22, 2018 http://news.theurbanmusicscene.com/2018/06/dexter-gordon-quartet-tokyo-1975-woody-shaw-tokyo-1981/ I am pretty sure the Dex in Tokyo (with Kenny Drew, NHOP) is out there in private-recording trade land but it does have two bonus tracks. jazzbo Posted June 22, 2018 Report Posted June 22, 2018 I knew about the Woody but not the Dex. Thanks. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted June 22, 2018 Report Posted June 22, 2018 The last thing I 'need' is (even) more Woody Shaw. But if the reports on this one are good, I know I won't be able to resist getting it. Quote

Clunky Posted July 3, 2018 Report Posted July 3, 2018 Tokyo 1981 just arrived. Sound is well balanced but slightly shaky mono. It’s perfectly adequate and so far my impression is that the band have their A game on. I’m glad I didn’t bother with getting the LP version as the audio quality isn’t up to it. For Shaw fans not audiophiles. Quote
