cliffpeterson Posted November 24, 2018 Report Posted November 24, 2018 Turned 90 on 11-18-18. Had a concert/party at the Rosendale Café in Kingston NY area last night and another in two days at the Blue Note http://sheilajordanjazz.com/ Quote
paul secor Posted November 24, 2018 Report Posted November 24, 2018 Looking at her schedule, she's a wonder. A lot of people couldn't do that at 50, let alone 90. Quote
medjuck Posted November 24, 2018 Report Posted November 24, 2018 I saw her perform a couple of years ago. She was great. Quote
duaneiac Posted November 24, 2018 Report Posted November 24, 2018 Nice selection, mjzee. That whole album is really good. To demonstrate how versatile Ms. Jordan can be/is, listen to her in this very different setting/mood from the video above. It's one of my favorite performances by Ms. Jordan and probably my favorite interpretation of this song, "The Water Is Wide". Quote
cliffpeterson Posted November 24, 2018 Author Report Posted November 24, 2018 Sheila has a home in the mid Hudson valley area. Plays 2-3 times a year in that area in small clubs like the Rosendale. I typically can catch her once a year-always a treat. Quote
BFrank Posted November 25, 2018 Report Posted November 25, 2018 I'm seeing her at SFJAZZ in January with Cameron Brown. Never seen her and really looking forward to it. It's a very small venue, too - holds about 100. Quote
