She does it the right/hard way by memorizing boppish solos and even setting lyrics to them - she will be the next scat and vocalese giant. On her facebook page she regularly posts videos of her singing, one has her singing along with a very complex Hermeto Pascoal solo. Check out her albums (I have yet to get the second):

I had the pleasure of seeing her live. She is very good at vocalese. It seems to come natural for her.
