Just noticed that Dusty Groove has a used copy of this CD now at least, for just $6.99 — a wonderful near total remake of Don Cherry’s “Complete Communion” with Varner’s French horn(!) replacing Cherry’s pocket trumpet — with other Don Cherry tunes. Same instrumentation basically otherwise, with an added guitar.

Really a fine date, and not one I’ve seen used too often…

Can anyone else vouch for this date? I’ve enjoyed my copy for a good 20 years, iirc.

PS: Not super pricy normally I guess, at least based on discog’s sales history stats…

Lowest:  $5.68

Median:  $9.05

Highest:  $14.77

PS: there are also several copies available from sellers on Discogs — including a few fairly inexpensive ones.

Sounds fun!  Just now found one buried in one of those ebay "you choose" multi-title listings (for "smooth jazz", LOL).  Will report back after I receive and listen.

A good and informative review here.  I’d forgotten who all was on this date…
