Linda Leida "Oye Ya" (SAR Records) 1980 .... starting with an earworm coro (Fernando Lavoy + Roberto Torres) hookline Linda Leida unfurls gradually a caribic storm .... btw some superb Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros playing here ....

Conjunto Nativo "Soy Nativo" (Top Hits) 1982 .... a Bach alike piano intro by Hector L. Velazquez, floating trumpets/coro, an enraptured tres feature by Jose J. Rivera and Gaby Santiago's lead vocals .... a heady brew indeed ....

Conjunto La Perla De Ponce "Conjunto La Perla De Ponce " (Nuestra Records) 1978 .... definitely one of the great but unsung Salsa LP`s from the late(r) 70`s .... wholeheartedly recommended ....

Who is on this one? Is it from NY?

I don't know of it.

Founded by Francisco Alvarado "Chalina" from Puerto Rico in 1976  .... members included Felix "Tito" Quinones (voc), Daniel Davila (voc), Jose Reyes (tp) and Ramon Alvarado  (perc) ....
