medjuck Posted May 14 Author Report Posted May 14 According to Stephanie Crease's bio he "wrote to the Carpenters in April 1949...'we're on our way to California'". She later says that "Between 1950 and 1951 Gil worked at a strip club in Greenwich Village..." So it's not impossible (though unlikely). Quote
