I am now thinking this is never going to happen, if England come calling for his coaching / mentoring services Hope springs eternal. My ticket is for September. mjazzg Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 I think England need to tie Sir J up tight for the next 18 months at least, with apologies to Lancs fans Quote
Royal Oak Posted May 3 Report Posted May 3 Lancashire vs Gloucestershire at OT yesterday, weather glorious once more. Quote
Royal Oak Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 (edited) Off to OT tomorrow. A day off work, Sir JA is in the squad, unbroken sunshine and 23 deg C forecast. I suppose the only drawback is that it's Derbyshire, possibly the least exciting team in the country. Edited May 15 by Royal Oak Quote
adh1907 Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 I see the forecast is good for the weekend as I am heading to Manchester to visit friends. Packing shorts! Will miss the cricket, as focussed on a certain football club’s last attempt on some silverware this season…. Quote
Royal Oak Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 It's been cracking the flags in Manchester for weeks! A fairly sedate day at the cricket today. Didn't get to see Sir JA as Lancashire were put in, and managed to bat (slowly) all day. Quote

Royal Oak Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Gosh, didn't realise MLC started in June! Also, didn't realise the games were played in blocks in three different locations - that does make sense, rather than teams jetting between cities for games. Quote
JSngry Posted 6 hours ago Author Report Posted 6 hours ago The T-20 format, I know, is offensive to purists, but it's something i can watch and follow one match straight through. And with my local MLB team looking like the want to suck again, MLC is certainly a pleasant way to look away from that. I've gone to a few matches and even bought merch! But the phrase "iconic Oakland Coliseum" is morbidly amusing. That place is a cavern and all but dead. Quote
