If you are in the Hudson Valley, I'd like to alert you to the 30th installment of "So, What Do You Think?" at Tubby's in Kingston, New York on Sunday, March 1. This concert presents the music of Chicago-based saxophonist / clarinetist Keefe Jackson with bassist Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements, SILT Trio, Blacks' Myths) and percussionist Mikel Patrick Avery (Natural Information Society, BASIC). This will be a powerful evening of improvised music that is not to be missed.

Doors at 7pm, concert at 8pm

$20 at the door or in advance. (ticket link to follow)

 

I might also play records before/after if there's time!

ha, if they asked, I would! The Oto scene appears to be excellent. Last time I was in London was probably around the time it opened, so definitely overdue...

Yes, Oto maintains a really high standard of programming and has done really since it opened.

I would love to hear Keefe Jackson live, lovely player. I realise I've seen the other two at, yes you guessed it, Oto. Not together though.

I think he emerged around the time I left Chicago, or maybe a little after, though I believe I did see him once (struggling to remember the exact context & it was probably in NYC). Excellent player indeed.
