  1. NFL 2013

When I saw that the deal wasn't in the billions knew it was a big win for the league. Current NFL revenue close to 10 billion for one year. Saw a report that mentioned the retired players have no idea what they'll get.....must have 2 doctor exams before determination of benefits. Opens the door for the 18 regular season games schedule. Talking safety and teams playing games Sunday and then Thursday nothing short of a farce.
  2. Harold Mabern fans

I'm a big Mabes fan!! Another vote for Straight Street This is a good one too on Japanese DIW .

  4. MLB 2013 Season

Not only did Barry Bonds obviously take "the clear and the cream" as he admitted but didn't know what the stuff was [supposedly] but he was allowed to wear body armor, the type of which that was banned while he was a player and that other batters could nor use, yet got a personal pass to continue until the end. Other than the possibility of getting hit in the head, he could give a crap about getting hit....would bounce off him without even a wince and would take the base while unwrapping that huge (now illegal) device.

  16. mary halvorson

" My personal favorite member of the group by far was the drummer" may have made the point, but what do I know? I'm not very well studied on *Reynoldian* scripture
  17. mary halvorson

Steve, Have enjoyed much of your enthusiasm over the years, yet your descriptions of musicians and some of the comparisons made are like weight lifting or drag racing competitions. "she isn't the best musician in the trio" is a bit over the top and a bit silly really.

  19. MLB 2013 Season

"I'd think they'd have as many as the Rangers. No? Same league, same division, same time zone." Let's call it equally bad and much worse that being in the NL from where they are located....previously they played the Cubs, St. Louis, Cinci, Milwaukee, Colorado...even Arizona was a relatively easy trip and now add 3 west coast teams instead of 2, and much more east coast play in the AL.
  20. MLB 2013 Season

In addition Houston now has the WORST travel schedule in MLB, by far. They have more multiple time zone trips to make [now being in the AL] than anybody.
  21. MLB 2013 Season

I just looked up the MLB minimum player salary which this year is $490,000, so if ALL Astros were paid the absolute minimum on the 25 player roster would come to $12,250,000 I saw that figure in an article on the Houston Chronicle's website: http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros/2013/07/31/young-get-younger-as-astros-make-several-moves/?cmpid=sportshcat I don't know how all the numbers are calculated, but that's still a crazy figure. I just want to know which Astros player are over paid

  23. MLB 2013 Season

If I remember correctly, the owner of the team was paid handsomely in some sort of compensation agreement [ 40 MIL?] for the change to move the team to the American League. My son in law is from Houston and a life_long Astros fan.....poor guy

  25. In posting my upcoming radio guests I make a habit of including photos of musicians and mostly album covers. Sometimes I get a message here that extensions are not allowed in this community [when I attempt to post] and have to put up another image which is almost always on the same search engine page.
