Midwest Snow storm

43 posts in this topic

I'm starting to feel snowed in. Don't know what businesses will be open tomorrow. Maybe I should have a few drinks tonight...

How bad is it in your area?

How much snow have you gotten?

My area of upstate NY, weirdly almost snow-free thus far this winter, is expected to receive more than 2 feet tomorrow. Maybe even 3...

not much in Ann Arbor so far, maybe half an inch, but its windy and gettin' chilly. My walk home from work was an adventure, as the cold shut down my iPod about a third of the way and a lot of snow had blown over the sidewalks, which slowed me down.

That's cold! I've only experienced it while snowboarding.

14 inches here in Indy since last night and another 4-6 on the way tonight! I've cleaned the driveway twice today already! 30-40 mph winds sure help as well!

8-10 inches already w/blowing snow in very cold conditions. I just "cleaned" my driveway, but the wind blows some of the snow back on it. The wind chill factor must be horrendous. I just drove to the store to get some brews while I still could...Ok, Winter, do your worst now! :g

I've been trying to find an "opening" to make the trek to Chicago for some studio work. Just cancelled for the rest of the week based on predictions. It's a bitch getting around Lake Michigan this time of year. :(

P/C, about 70 degrees at the moment. Yesterday sucked though with about three inches of rain. :P

Third time for me in about a month. It appears though that snow/moisture doesn't hurt it, as it got covered with snow when I took it out of my pocket to see what happened. Works fine now.

My dad lives in St. Joseph, MI, and was supposed to meet me in Chicago this evening for an event at the CSO. The sheriff of the county where he lives sent out a warning to everyone to stay off of 90 because there had been dozens of accidents and conditions were hazardous.

Luckily, the majority of the snow is just south of Chicago. We've only gotten about 3 or 4 inches over the past few days. The cold and wind are nasty, though.

Why's you dad in touch with the sheriff?

Dan, where do you live? Sounds like Boca Grande, Fl to me.

Kinda cold here, but not that bad. It's about 12 degrees out right now. We got 3 inches of snow yesterday, no biggie. The worst of it passed to our north and headed Conn's way.

Na-da in south central MN. I'm kind of in the mood for a big blow-out snow storm before spring rolls around. We've barely had snow this year and I've only had to use the snow blower once this year.

It hit us in southern Ontario last night and this morning. The people close to the west end of Lake Ontario received 50 cm of snow. A little further north and east where I live, closer to 25 cm. The worst thing right now is is the wind which is whipping the snow into all kinds of weird and wonderful shapes. That also means that we might as well wait 'til it stops until we do the heavy shovelling.

It's a snow day here which means schools closed, and lots of people off work. My wife and daughter are both home. I am going to have a quiet afternoon in my office catching up on paper work (with jazz playing, of course). One needs a day like this sometimes.

Oh, you actually like living there?

My own personal hatred of that state knows no bounds.
