catesta
I have a penis Congratulations! Welcome to the board. Any interest in telling us the story behind the alias?
Saxophone__Vagina
My history of aliases is a decorated one. I got tired of using 'normal' ones like Maxf57 and grandmastapheezy, so i decided to choose more fun ones like Kurt_Cobain, what i go by on many other forums, Others i have been known to use are Pumpkin King or Queen or Princess. Saxophone__Vagina is just the latest fun/silly name i have choosen. I do not take many things seriously and am a good nature person, so the silliness of SaxophoneVagina i think describes myself well. JSngry
So, are you a soprano vagina, an alto vagina, a tenor vagina, or what? Hope you're not one of those contrabass vaginas - my Uncle Bob fell into one of those out in Vegas last year and we STILL haven't heard from him. JSngry
I have a penis Only if you have a tenor.
catesta
You have my best wishes for you and your family on that missing Uncle Bob thing, JS. I myself would prefer not to hear the soprano vagina used in jazz. It sounds too much like a kazoo crossed with a sitar. Saxophone__Vagina
I read allaboutjazz for a while and ocasioanlly read here and was always interested in this blindfold test thingy but never registered, but in the height of the banning the mention of organissimo, i was like forget AAJ i and came here, but the first time i had ever heard of organissimo was on AAJ. JSngry
Well, we told Uncle Bob to take along a bunch of 2X4s (the classics really do never go out of style), but he piddled around and ended up w/1X12s instead, which are longer, sure, but narrower, and when the contrabass is involved, you gotta think GIRTH, dig? Save that skinny shit for molding, we told him, but noooooo.... We've tried calling his cell, and the voice mail is still on, so maybe he just needs to find a good reception area. But then again, that cheap bastard probably doesn't want to pay roaming charges, so let his stew!
Man with the Golden Arm
You know we all rely on good old AMG for all of our cross referencing and such but when looking for who really plays the actual instrument in question I ran across this link. One needs to go DEEP as it goes on and on. aaachoo!

Man with the Golden Arm
That's very weird my brass squamous friend. Hit that PM button with your particulars.
king ubu
How about a bamboo saxophone? Roscoe Mitchell plays such a thing on the "Urban Magic" live CD I'm listening to. Then there would be the one pitched higher than the soprano, which lots of posters sure would like to be banned from our planet ubu
RDK
"Saxophone Vagina" reminds me of that flute joke from the end of the first American Pie film. You know, that one time, at band camp... But damn, *that's* gotta hurt!

JSngry
We respect the delicate nature of both the subject matter and our kids' sensibilities. We just tell them that Uncle Bob went spelunking and leave it at that.
Noj
I've had my discs for about a week but I have yet to enter the discussion--hopefully I will find time this weekend...
