Muhal Richard Abrams  1 - OQA + 19 [from The Complete Black Saint Recordings, Vol.2 box] (Black Saint—CAM Jazz)

Personnel:
Muhal Richard Abrams: piano, synthesizer, voice; Henry Threadgill: alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, flute, voice; Anthony Braxton: soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, flute, clarinet, voice; Leonard Jones: bass, voice; Steve McCall: drums, percussion, voice.

Having just enjoyed Abrams's piano solo on Marion Brown's "Sweet Earth Flying, Part 5" (and enjoyed the Anthony Braxton CD I played before the Brown), I felt compelled to play a Muhal Richard Album. (As a bonus, this one also features Braxton.)

The Smithsonian Folkways CDR reissue of this album.  Ms. Williams talks about jazz and plays examples of different styles -- blues, boogie woogie, KC swing, etc.  Not the highest of fi and there is no information that even a moderate jazz fan might not already know, but it's worth a listen.

I can't comment on her French and Portuguese skills, but it's a lovely album.

One of her best albums.  Here she was backed by a simple quartet of masters:  Hank Jones, Gene Bertoncini, Ron Carter and Grady Tate.  None of them really get any solo space, but they know exactly how to accompany a singer.
