Nice. Been trying to score a clean US Savoy pressing of this for years. Never even heard of that one. Good to know there's more Ted Brown around. apologies as this is lead by Ronnie Ball not Ted Brown. Both of them get a very fine showing of course. My copy is US Savoy - original ( I think ) in very nice condition which I purchased a few months ago. Fine session. To be completed with Freewheelin by Ted Brown with Art Pepper.

My favourite Mingus. Booker Ervin's soloon GBPPH is outstanding. Incredible all along.
  7. What vinyl are you spinning right now??

yesterday : My al time favourite "Round about Midnight" version, played by Barney Kessel.
  8. LP Cover Lee Morgan Candy

I had a VG cover of this one, paired with a G record... sold the two for a rich price... ... Anyway, you can remove the tape with time patience. Try to carefully heat up the tape.

One of the great CTI releases. 'Great Gorge' is a track best known by beat-heads. The buzz is justified, given the 11:43 of smoldering rhythm by Clarke and DeJohnette. Caveat: the Pete Turner photo montage is my nominee for CTI's most 'WTF' album cover. Thnks for the info. I will try to find it.
  10. Album of the Week: June 29 - July 5th

A Caddy for daddy was my first Mobley ever, period. THe first time i heard his round sound. Everytime i listen to this one (which is not very often)i remember this fact. The "morning after"is imo the highlight of the date. Really something thrilling, in correspondance (don't ask me why) with the blue, cold and windy atmosphere of the cover. Definitely one of my favourite Mobleys.
  11. Great LP cover archive

Birka Jazz really did a great job... and many of those covers are very rare, not often seen. Thanks for the link !! Hope they will update...
