  2. He's also one of the biggest name dropping bores in the world. I used to listen him on WNEW am,WNYC and on XM radio and Sirius and I'v heard some of the same stories dozens of times. But he does play some jazz, especially Ella, Billie Holiday and Art Tatum

  11. I remember seeing this when it was first on on Chanel 13 in New york city. I was in high school at the time and was happy to see new music on television for the first time in my life.

I'm sure that many have already have read this 1964 Time magazine cover story about Thelonius Monk, but for those who haven't here's the link Monk in TimeI think I read somewhere it was scheduled to appear in late November 1963 but the JFK assassination knocked it off the cover. I've got a lot of free time these days and I'm using it to dig through back issues of newspapers and magazines which is the same thing I used to do when I didn't have free time

  17. Once and a time in my previous life I had blocked the politics forum from my view because reading it made me too angry and was no good for my blood pressure. Since then I've already had a stroke and my politics have taken a sharp turn from the right and I don't mind reading and/or posting material that is probably more in line with what most people around here are thinking. My question is: How do I go about reclaiming the politics forum so I can read it again?
