  2. Early Peterson is the Peterson that I like! Now playing:
  3. It looks like Chick Corea shares my enthusiasm for "Dusk in Sandi". YouTube and Spotify contain various versions by him. It's also been recorded by pianist Mike Melillo. "Glass Enclosure" has been done by Benny Green (not surprised knowing his reverence for masterpieces of modern jazz piano) as well as by guitarist Pasquale Grasso. And, yes, Chick's recorded this one as well.
  4. I mustn't miss out Bud. Of his many wonderful compositions the one that gets me the most is "Dusk in Sandi".
  5. Blues Shout is a fine one!
  6. Nestico Basie. Can't beat it! Saw Leo with a local rhythm section here at Club 43 in Manchester in the later 1960s. It was after he'd made his name as a member of the Gillespie quintet.
  7. Must give the Ornette a listen! I don't know any girls called Ceora. It would be a good name for a jazz fan's baby! Incidentally, my late friend and jazz record store owner, Ed Dipple, called his daughter Corrine. Had he been listening to this, I wonder?
  8. Horace Silver, "Enchantment" Lee Morgan, "Ceora"
