Agree with you about lots of fire. A bit rough at the edges though (with the obvious exception of Farnsworth) and at c.28-30 we can't blame it on their youth when we remember what the giants of the past - who are such an influence on these guys - did in their early 20s.
On this week's Live at Emmet's Place Eddie Henderson reveals that as a teenage trumpeter he asked Miles Davis how to improvise and was told (in husky whisper) "learn as many licks as you can, then scotch tape them together."
