  1. Have a great day, Erik!
  2. For me, that's a big plus.
  3. It's now April 18 in Europe, so: have a great day, Flurin!
  4. Just tell it like it is. I can take it.
  5. I hate to disappoint you, David, but this news was already posted here a few days ago...
  6. Noise reduction has been applied to some of those 1201 Music reissues to such an extent that they sound lifeless and very dull to me. I prefer the earlier Black Lion releases.

    The Yazoo Label

The RCA "Heritage Series" came out in the late 1980s (I think it was 1988) and went out of print almost immediately.
  8. I agree with you re grammar and spelling, but shouldn't that be "themselves"? (them = plural)
  9. Not necessarily... Ok, maybe I sound like someone from another country that didnt make it past 6th grade. I didn't say that... What I meant was that poor grammar and bad spelling don't necessarily mean one's from another country.
  10. Not necessarily...

    The Yazoo Label

These are the two Patton Yazoo CDs I was referring to: The Best of Charley Patton - Yazoo 2069 Primeval Blues, Rags and Gospel Songs - Yazoo 2074

    The Yazoo Label

I prefer the Patton Yazoo CDs to the JSP set, they have the best sound of all Patton releases. JSP allegedly took their masterings from the Revenant box and EQed them a bit.
  13. Or maybe they don't find your stuff interesting enough...
  14. Just a guess, but it could be because many members here feel uncomfortable when a new member comes here mainly to promote their own business, without taking part in discussions elsewhere on the board.

    Prestige RVGs

I couldn't agree more. You've gotta try very hard to find fault with these new RVG's, but some people are going to find something they can complain about one way or another. for one, they smell like onions Yep, some people can't stop crying...
  16. Excellent point, I fully agree.

    The Yazoo Label

    I second those Patton recommendations!
  18. As far as I know charging PayPal fees to buyers in eBay auctions isn't allowed ever since eBay bought PayPal. Did they at least refund your listing fees when they cancelled your auctions?
  19. At the risk of repeating myself: the JJJ is one of the best Mosaic sets. Get it while you can!
  20. I second those recommendations (I inserted the picture of Minton's).
  21. Hey, I appreciate your comments and coming to Hans defense - really, I do. But this has nothing to do with his not being an english speaker, I think that actually doesn't give him the credit he's due - he has many, many posts here and his communication skills in English are actually much better than many native english speakers do. My beef is continually not being able to get out of reciting the same (wrong) stuff over and over that he gets off someone's publicity board. Hans brought up the Hoffman stuff here, not I, and since he did, it's fair to comment on it. Anyways, I get your point - probably no point in more venting over this one. This has been going on for far too long and I get the feeling we're going round in circles here, so let me say just this: you're right when you say that I should have used the adjective "excessive" when I was talking about compression etc.; I should also have made clear that I meant "loudness" as (later) described by Couw and Ray but I didn't exactly know how to describe it, and I should have made clear that I wasn't talking about compression that is applied in order to make CDs listenable. But I did not bring up any Hoffman stuff here, I was merely trying to put into words what I don't like when I'm listening to CDs; the Hoffman site has got nothing to do with that. Chuck Nessa was the one who mentioned Hoffman here first, not me, and you jumped right at it, in a way that I really don't appreciate. Whatever you think of that site, I think it's out of line to call people names like you did, the more so since they can't defend themselves. Edited to correct an error.
