  1. Sure, that’s what I mean. It is a change, if that is what is happening, from the previous model of keeping things in the catalogue a long time. Instead things come and go, some of them at least, or seem to.
  2. I mentioned in another thread the artificial scarcity of new vinyl. I wonder if anybody has noticed that fairly recent CDs can go OOP quite quickly. I went to look for a budget reissue today which only came out internationally in December 2018, and it is already OOP. There is a new copy on amazon at double the original price but I'm not biting. So that is less than nine months in print, and I have confirmed that it is OOP, not reprinting. I've seemed to see this on a couple of things in recent times. Of course, if it is on spotify then I can hear it, so all is not lost. Am I the only one to come across this?
  3. Or eat room service pizza and watch football...
  4. Thanks, Flurin. I'll investigate.
  5. I am in Brussels two or three times a year but never go out anywhere. Is there a jazz or avant venue I might like, does anyone know? Feel the need to stretch my legs...
  6. Lining it up on Spotters as we speak...
  7. Yes. Basic Marantz is fine. Speakers.
  8. I take my rat off to you, sir!
  9. So you go to buy a little new vinyl and you already can't source it at anything like a reasonable price. I get it. But.
  10. The Hats are in a separate box from the Impulses.
  11. I'll have a look once I get the new loft ladder...
  12. No cats. No bats. No rats. Or not many.
  13. Yeah. Maybe, maybe...
  14. Happily no warping problems here. Really wish I had that Shepp CD. I have a feeling I sold it to make space for the more complete US edition, and then never replaced it. Grr.
  15. Funny you should say that, because I was just planning a post to the opposite effect. Cost aside, I am very into box sets at the moment. Really like getting my teeth into both new and familiar material.
  16. So, as none of you lot got your act together, I set off up there myself...only to have the ladder collapse on me. So now I need a new loft ladder... So none of us can go up there. But that doesn’t clear up what happened to the Shepp CD. Well? I think I’ve got the Jasmine vinyl, and I certainly have an original Three for a Quarter. But they are in the LOFT! PS I’m a dog person.
  17. Ok two things: first, can someone please check through the boxes in my loft to see if I have a copy of Tracks (Incus 42). I think I have got one but - you know what lofts are like. Also, can anyone explain what happened to my Japanese CD of Archie Shepp, Live in San Francisco? Did I sell it because I was going to buy the US issue which includes Three for a Quarter? Or lose it? Or? Maybe I sold it to one of you lot... MVCI, I think, not UCCI.
  18. Should have specified fnac.com not .be or .ch
  19. Having what may be a bad experience...
  20. Bass AND drums could be a bit more forward...
  21. Will there be separate releases of the individual albums, do you think?
  22. This is the film music piece, along with the story: https://www.schoenberg.at/index.php/en/joomla-license-sp-1943310036/begleitungsmusik-zu-einer-lichtspielscene-op-34-1929-1930 Pity they didn’t ask Warne about Picasso and Joyce.
  23. Streaming, eh? That and climate change. I dunno.
