  1. I was afraid this thread would be about something else......
  2. That was very interesting and enjoying to read.
  3. I'm sure he hasn't gotten any better.
  4. I think I wanna battle it out with that kid drummer.
  5. Wouldnt you be more comfortable talking through e-mail?
  6. In my opinion, jazz was never less alive than in 1987. Chick Corea was doing some stuff then.
  7. No, I think it was Branford.
  8. You never heard of Foghat? Ugh, do I feel old ... What style of music is it? If its rock, it has nothing to do with you being old. Blues rock, but not as heavy as Zeppelin or Cream. Their live album was a huge hit after constant touring. I dont follow rock, except for Led Zeppelin or The Rolling Stones which I still find annoying at sometimes.
  9. I have thought that about a lot of threads, a lot that I can't find, that took me a long time to search. With no luck, though..
  10. Sounds good, try it!
  11. He was around in the 60's?
  12. How is the Duke Pearson orchestrated stuff? I didn't care for the Wnyton Kelly one with Jimmy Cobb, Kenny Burrell and Paul Chambers, Comin In The Back Door. I didnt hear a guitar in the whole album BTW.
  13. Allright, no one call me Kat N.E. more. no, I like it, scratch that.
  14. now i know.
  15. Well they are just kids, which makes me wanna hear it. Obviously, no one is expecting Ahmad Jamal, or Herbie Hancock, but I would personally want to hear them.
  16. I've listened to the album today. I really dont give a shite about them anymore.
  17. Is he the one with the painful death?
  18. You never heard of Foghat? Ugh, do I feel old ... What style of music is it? If its rock, it has nothing to do with you being old.
  19. He can go shove it, I'm never listening to him.
  20. Completely different, but the guy who owns my record store is wierd. Very cool though, doesn't talk much. But when some old timer came into the store he said, "I saw you pissing over there. Yep I saw you taking a leak over there, go home wash your hands! I dont want you touching my records." lol, I was in the background trying not to laugh, and feeling sorry for the old guy.
  21. I just wanted to say that Monk's style is lightyears away from Peterson's. One guy trying to play as few notes as possible, than you got Peterson, who's rather flashy. And Miles Davis dug Ahmad jamal's use of space, so both probaly just didn't like his style.
  22. Maybe they figured you would like jazz? That's just me.
