  1. Something's Gotta Give was pretty bad. I saw it five days before Christmas, when I got out of the theater, I thought Christmas was over. Long and boring. If it was shorter, it would have been better.
  2. Bob Florence Concert By The Sea and Westlake Buddy Rich Swingin' New Big Band The New One!
  3. Love it. Nice melodies. Nice players. Nice album!
  4. Is there a reason he is still a member, and has the right to post here?
  5. I love when the crowd chants, "Bags Groove! Bags Groove!" I think they do it for Django too.
  6. I only heard one song, but I love it so much. I want to buy all their albums. I have recently been delved into Zeppelin, which turned me on to Floyd.
  7. I really haven't dug too deep into them. I really only heard Have A Cigar, and I think it's one of the greatest songs.
  8. How late? With Jack Six, Gerry Mulligan, and Allen Dawson, or in the 70's, when he played with his kids. I like all Brubeck, except very really early. Until Joe Morello joined the quartet, it was just west coast cool, nothing special. He added that spark to it.
  9. What the top says. Anybody here?
  10. I dont know if I really like Bru's piano playing, but I love his recordings. The Dave Brubeck Quartet was my favortite group all through 7th grade. I dug all those albums, especially Gone With The Wind, Time Further Out, and Time In Space. He had good arrangements.
  11. Yep he was on a few R&B recordings. Wasnt it a song like "Splish Splash"?
  12. I tend to agree. The show was aimed at kids, basically. that explains it.
  13. And Dave Bailey and Pete La Rocca. Bailey left jazz to become a pilot? And La Rocca left it to become an atterney.
  14. This is really hard because I dont know Hub as much as Lee. I have heard a little Hub and my impression is, great trumpet player, but I can't pick them a part as well as I would like to.
  15. I won that lp on ebay then it got lost in the mail. Further down the road, I managed to pick it up. I didnt dig it at first, but then I actually got the point of it. I like the classical, followed by a blues piece, which is the pattern for the album. The album spotlights Kay's delicate percussion talents.
  16. Samples on your website. I know its not a lot, but from what I heard, the tribute to Jimmy Smith, I believe. I t was pretty nice.
  17. I just heard Organissimo for the first time. I didnt know where else to say this but, you guys swing! And Good luck!
  18. boy thats a Rick Kick!
  19. I'll second that. Concorde too.
  20. If heaven has a sound, it sounds like a marimba!
  21. If heaven has a sound, it sounds like a marimba!
  22. What you said Chuck was above my head so I dont even know what it meant.
  23. : LOL, I thought I didnt have to go to college.
  24. I dont know. I get what you're saying and you are dead on, but as whole, they thought and played as one. But if you're saying that when they were all on their own, they let loose and swang better, yep you got your arguement right there. MJQ was John Lewis's vehicle. The others went along with it for 40 years. I would think you would want to go on your own. BUt they did in 1975 and they had solo albums, so...
