  1. New to me, at least... Cold Bleak Heat - It's magnificent, but it isn't war
  2. Yeah, he's a real treat. I've not seen that before! Here's a great Hino discography.
  3. It is great. I like some of the subsequent Rava's with John Abercrombie a tad better, but Giro is a fine one.
  4. This one is not bad at all, Guy Warren of Ghana - Afro Jazz. Nice, accomplished band, too.
  5. I've listened to all the Dixon I have the last few days. Now I'm listening to Marc Levin's The Dragon Suite, produced by Dixon. Levin was a student of his.
  6. I must agree on the Satie. Excellent!! I also love both volumes of Nightride of a Lonely Saxophoneplayer (very OOP, however)
  7. It would appear George Tucker and Al Dreares
  8. I'm particularly fond of Barry Guy & Barre Phillips - Arcus. Two of my all time favorites!
  9. If Orphy here sounds like he does on Tony Bevan's Bruise - "We Packed Are Bags", I am definitely interested! Can't wait to check it out.
  10. Joachim Kuhn's late 60's to early 70's stuff.
  11. Wow. Eight pages, and no mention of Irene Schweizer. Whether it's her solo work, her even better duets with various great drummers, or her great small group projects (Storming of the Winter Palace; old FMP releases; or the recent Berne Concert with Trio 3); she is something special. edit: oops. I see a brief mention of her on page 7.
  12. I would think Harry Whitakers's Black Renaissance would fit the bill
  13. Bob Downes - "Open Music". It's a gem. Good luck finding this rarity, however. (btw, that is a misprint on the link. It is "John Stevens" on drums)
  14. Thanks all for the warm welcome. Most of the "obscure" threads refer to obscure albums already in people's collections. I was looking more for what is in the aforementioned link. Albums you have heard about, and possibly searched high and low for, yet led to fruitless efforts.
  15. Greetings. I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I've been searching this forum for a thread similiar to this one at Jazzcorner. It's titled "Obscure albums (heard of but never heard)." I know many of you are also members there, as well. I have tried many keyword searches to no avail. Does anyone know if a similar thread exists here? Thanks in advance
