  1. Not strictly "Brazil", but certainly relevant to this thread, I want to recommend this recent recording by my friend Joe Carter (who used to post here on occasion). The track list includes great standards from Brazil and the world of jazz, but my favorite track on the disc is Joe's composition "Viktor with a K". Joe's guitar work is supported by David Finck on bass, and Ze Mauricio on percussion. Outstanding CD.

  6. Jazz Hour = another red flag. The picture that's taking shape here is troubling. On the one hand, it could be an unauthorized recording, and/or a low-quality recording that has been shopped around by the fly by night, bottom-feeding labels of the world. In addition to that, the chances are fairly good that the information being presented about the material could very well be incorrect. It could even be a compilation of recordings from different performances from who knows when/where. I've been down that road with various CD "discoveries". Anyway, perhaps there's a hardcore Brubeck enthusiast around here who can help sort this one out.
