  6. Too bad they didn't knock him out in the first quarter (or better yet, a pre-game mishap of some sort). (jk of course, but man that guy was a disaster, all day. Two fumbles, a muff, and an ill-advised diving catch on another punt).
  7. ... Siamese "Children" (a tune from "The King & I"). I love this CD, btw. Featured one track on my Organissimo Blindfold Test many moons ago.
  8. Between Billy Cundiff and Kyle Williams, you can probably try to upgrade that to a really nice dinner.
  9. “I’m sure you recognize this lovely melody as ‘Stranger in Paradise.’ But did you know that the original theme was from the Polovtsian Dance No. 2 by Borodin?”
  10. I wouldn't put it that way. Some of the songs mentioned have melodic similarities, but they're not "songs with multiple names". "Got My Mojo Workin'" and "High Heeled Sneakers" have melodic similarities, but if you take the original melodies and compare them side by side, they're not the same. Blue Mitchell creating a hip new variation the HHS melody is another thing altogether. The number of variations is endless of course, unless somebody is trying to play a melody as written (in the case of an instrumental version, purposefully retaining the melodic inflections of the original vocal line, for example). I'm being picky perhaps, but as a musician, I'm slightly uncomfortable with the premise that some of these songs are melodically "the same". That's a bit simplistic, imo.
  11. My copy of the CD, dated 1999, has "Now's The Time" (track 13). The total time is listed as 76:45, buy my player indicates 74 and change. Maybe your CD was an earlier issue, and mine was a later (corrected) version? I know Fantasy made errors like this occasionally (although they sometimes failed to ever correct them).

  15. The "companion" release to Prodigal Son was called "A Bluish Bag". The track "Ain't No Way" was issued as a bonus track on the "Common Touch" CD. The rest of the tracks from the LT album "Ain't No Way" were issued as bonus tracks on the "Easy Walker" CD.
