  1. Just two ('Art Pepper + 11' and the Guaraldi Trio 'Charlie Brown Christmas')...the Venus cds are a higher priority these days.
  2. Wrong brew though......a real sin, eh?
  3. Sidewinder, the Sextet is swinging through D.C. in late-Jan w/Terence Blanchard, John Hicks and Javon Jackson now listed as being on board......soooo? I'm sure going to make every effort to hit this one.
  4. ...and despite the fact that I said Maurice Vander (per the Dreyfus cd) above....is it not actually Vandair?
  5. Great, that 'No Problem' disc sounds fantastic! They don't come much better than 'Our Father Who Art Blaky'! Any additional One for All sessions in the pipeline? Did you have a hand in the latest Mabern Trio ("Fantasy") release (last month?)?
  6. The Clarke-Wilkins is a great cd and a tough find these days...but if you search around you're bound to find a copy, Marine. That, and several of the Fuller Savoys (Jazz Eyes, Jazz, It's Magic) have popped up on the Amazon site in recent months. The two that I'd like to see come out on cd are 'Klook's Clique' and the excellent 'Paris/Cologne' double LP (Disques Swing) that collects four '57 sessions recorded in Paris & Cologne featuring Clarke in a quartet, quintet, sextet, octet and tentet w/folks like Lucky Thompson, Martial Solal, Don Byas, Pierre Michelot, Fats Sadi, Maurice Vander, etc.. You ever spot this one sitting in an LP bin, dive for it!
  7. If you hit the local bar tonite to celebrate with a drink, steer clear of the 'Hieronymus Bosch' and other 'name' drinks and stick to J&B. Save those for when ya hit 40. http://www.whitehouseanimationinc.com/kunstbar.htm
  8. ....or Jazz Crusaders?
  9. Damn, and here I thought Chris A's 'Bessie' book sales were enough to keep him afloat.
  10. I never cut-and-pasted an article about 'lying' on the X-mas thread.
  11. Then Christmas will never come. Jim, Stop whining about that old board game and maybe we'll chip in and get you a pair of these stylish lie detector goggles. This has some relevance to an X-mas thread 'cause soon enough we'll all have to start practicing up on our best version of 'Hey thanks cousin Ernie!! I've been dying to pick this cd up for the longest time!!
  12. ...'till I work my way through at least two Christmas Stollen. One's almost kicked........another's on deck........yum!
  13. I decided I needed a pic that was slightly more dignified than the one with the keg.
  14. That one ranks #2 in my book.
  15. hiroshi@earlyrecords.com (Mr. Hiroshi Tanno)
  16. Etherbord, I found your online jazz twin. B-) Hmm, think I need to get that Paul Bley Mercury. http://musicpower.080.net/newbb/viewthread...=2&sid=3q4o2zTf
  17. ...and don't forget Jimmy Smith. Okay, well how 'bout "Jubilee Shout" or "Z.T's Blues" then?
  18. Yes, that would be another good one.
  19. It would be nice to see 'The Rajah'. Not many older copies floating around....and forget about trying to find the TOCJ.
  20. What a great outfit they are. With your post in mind, I just went and had a look at my order history to double-check on the 'Jazztet' order/cancellation 'dance' that I went through with their customer servive reps 2 months ago....and the only previous orders that are listed are ones from a few years ago, including one for 10 items that was apparently shipped. Problem is, it wasn't an order I ever placed. No way there would have been a bunch of Jimmy Smith cds in one of my orders... no way!
  21. Too bad Naomi Campbell didn't have enough change in her coin purse to cover a measly little $4k dinner. I've got leftover turkey & stuffing for her. Naomi Campbell bust-up over £2K restaurant bill November 29, 2004 Naomi Campbell has allegedly been involved in a bust-up over paying the bill in a London restaurant. The 34-year-old supermodel was eating out with her boyfriend Usher and several friends when she was presented with a £2,000 bill. But sources claim the catwalk queen was expecting to eat on the house at the swanky eatery Cipriani, co-owned by her ex-lover Flavio Briatore. A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "She was kicking off, saying she wasn't going to pay and that as a personal friend of Flavio she shouldn't have to pay. She looked furious. "In the end Flavio was called and he told staff to waive the bill.
