I would say cringe betokens a bodily movement not just a facial one. Wince is facial more than bodily. Hence the good Captain's dog cringes rather than winces.

Really, I didn't realise it was so sought after. I didn't know about it beforehand and bought on a whim as I like Ross, Wertman and Reid separately. Nice set, on first listen. Good that they're repressing, should sort out the gougers a bit. Now onto Pharoah Sanders - Elevation [Impulse, France 1974] been after a nice copy of this for a while
