i actually havn't had a chance to listen to it yet but going by the samples on Juno sounds great https://www.juno.co.uk/products/chick-corea-some-time-ago-live-in-germany-cd/1149330-01/

I got my copy a couple of weeks ago

Quite an interesting selection of cd reissues coming out on Solid in July, some have not been on cd for a long time and others getting a first time appearance CDSOL 3166 Terumasa Hino - Hino at Berlin Jazz Festival '71 CDSOL-3167 Mal Waldron & Kimiko Kasai - One For Lady CDSOL-3168 Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Jazz Messengers 70 CDSOL-3169 Mal Waldron & Gary Peacock - First Encounter CDSOL-3170 Irene Kral - Kral Space CDSOL-3171 Albert Dailey - Renaissance CDSOL-3172 Mark Levine - Up 'Til Now CDSOL-3173 Gary Bartz - Juju Man CDSOL-3174 Henry Franklin - Tribal Dance CDSOL-3175 Frank Strazzeri - After The Rain CDSOL-3176 Don Cherry - Orient CDSOL-3177 Steve Kuhn - Steve Kuhn CDSOL-3178 Steve Lacy - Epistrophy CDSOL-3179 Joachim & Rolf Kühn - Bloody Rockers CDSOL-3180 Brigitte Fontaine and Areski -L'incendie

It’s great, it’s up on their bandcamp https://nobusinessrecords.bandcamp.com/album/live-in-europe-1968-1972

Lots of interesting things this year, hopefully will see cds of some of them Joe Henderson Live at The Showcase 1978 & John Coltrane - The Tiberi Tapes: A Preview Of The Mythic Recordings stand out https://www.recordstoreday.co.uk/rsd-list

full list here, quite a few first time to cd, that Eddie Louiss one is really great! https://www.catfish-records.jp/product-group/1105

Not a reissue but there’s a lovely new Michael Garrick recording from 1970 that’s just been released https://myonlydesirerecords.bandcamp.com/album/late-autumn-sunshine

There's a bonus track on the Japanese CD as per the norm.

Out next month, sounds like some fascinating material https://test-stanko.polskieradio.pl/en

Yeah this was the only Japanese Strata CD reissue that I have that seems to be a needle drop, and not a good one either, there have been two subsequent versions on Solid Records, anyone know if they are any improvement?

Another Ra release, not part of RSD but also on Modern Harmonic coming soon, looks interesting, i do love stripped down solo Ra (i think Samura Celestial accompanies him on drums for some of it, it seems to incorporate bits of St Louis Blues-Solo Piano with some unreleased tracks, though according to Irwin Cusid its all previously unreleased https://sunra-mh.bandcamp.com/album/uncharted-passages

some possibly interesting things on list, i assume all will be getting cd releases too given the labels involved Bill Evans - Further Ahead (Live in Finland 1964-69) (Elemental) Freddie Hubbard - On Fire- Live From The Blue Morocco (Resonance) Mingus in Argentina - The Buenos Aires Concerts (Resonance) Sun Ra - Stray Voltage (Modern Harmonic) Sun Ra - Nuits De La Fondation Maeght (Deluxe Edition) (Strut)

Charly/BYG have been releasing a bunch of these in Europe again over last year or so, both LP and remastered mini Lp CDs, so far they have done some Shepp, Art Enemble, Sun Ra, Don Cherry, Brigitte Fontaine, Gong and few others so assuming/hoping that they will do the whole catalogue then these Japanese ones will be the same mastering but who knows if they will do them all.

so is this actually available anywhere, despite the late Nov release date i can see v few actual listings for it and zero availability

Just got my copy from Italy, for 25 Euros its fine but would not have been happy paying £70 for this, its as cheap and flimsy as they come, at least the previous large multi disc digipaks felt sturdy and used nice material, this just reeks of cost cutting in every department!
