charles flores is dead "charlesfloresmusic.com Charles Flores, a Grammy-winning jazz bassist who had worked with several notable jazz musicians, died last Wednesday (Aug. 22) from throat cancer complications. He was 41. Although there was no mention of his passing on his official site, the Hartford Courant reported his passing over the weekend. Acclaimed jazz pianist Michel Camilo -- whose Michel Camilo Trio included Flores -- told the publication Flores was "a wonderful human being loved by all of us, and also by many fans worldwide who enjoyed his amazing talent and unforgettable smile." He also added Flores was "truly gifted with a unique musical sensibility as well as a profound knowledge of the Latin rhythms and the jazz tradition.""

The Altoona Mirror reports the Neil Diamond song "Sweet Caroline" will no longer be played at Penn State football games. School officials are concerned about the lyrics, specifically "touching me, touching you." -
AGING TIGERS NEED NEW HOME "ASHLAND -- Denise Flores completed a familiar chore Sunday morning -- using a garden hose to fill metal bowls with water for her tigers. Taz loped toward the bowl from inside his cage, then began licking the steady stream of water as it arced into the bowl. One paw came up toward the fence as he drank. "You're not going to grab the hose," Flores chided. "You want to play ..." It was destined to be a bittersweet morning for the Ashland woman, as the clock ticked down on her time with her four remaining cats. Denise and Jose Flores run Tiger Paw Exotic Rescue Center in large enclosures behind their house on Ohio 511, north of Ashland."

the good news: I'll be back in the Apple just in time! The bad news: I don't have a radio-which leads to...the good news: I won't have to endure a certain double-vowel named, uh, 'nudnick' (; they are the same every year, anyway. you wouldn't hear anything you, or i, haven't heard before, several hundred times. my fav times are after midnight to 7am. there's much less banter and much more music. -

very seriously bitter chocolatey--- after a 4 banger of guinness foreign extra with some serious jazz-sort of, kind of like biting into some serious baking chocolate, or warne marsh. -
It would appear that the only reason the Dodgers did this deal was to get Adrian Gonzalez. But, TBH, I am very glad Loney is gone. He has been a Giants killer for years. As to the BoSox, I guess they are all about the youth movement now. Hm. Good luck with competing with the Yonkers. You've got that wrong. The Yankees play a few miles south of Yonkers! it seems to me that the sox management here is trying to either shift the blame for this debacle to theo or emulate what he is now doing in chitown. i can't finger out which.

that music in the lee era went to places that very few musics ever touch.

Jackson has been (since Dec. 2008) and still is Ed Farmer's radio partner. Geez -- Dunn has 38 home runs and 87 RBI. Where would be without him? apologies--the chaps before darrin lasted only 1 year. chris singleton, and stoney, succeeding the excellent john rooney.
-
darrin survived only 1 year with ed farmer on radio, as well. guys don't hang around long with darmeo, either. darrin can be funny and silly, loose as a goose sometimes.
