  2. ladies to be disgrunted "NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Ah, the sounds of summer. What would late August in Queens be without the crack of the bat at Citi Field – and the shrieks from right next door at Flushing’s USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center? We may soon find out on the latter. A plan to crack down on ultra-loud grunting in women’s tennis has been “unanimously green-lighted” by the WTA players’ council, representatives from all four majors and the International Tennis Federation, according to USA Today. “It’s time for us to drive excessive grunting out of the game for future generations,” WTA CEO Stacey Allaster told the publication."
  3. PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. the world tennis agency plans to crack down on ladies grunting during their stroking activities. would that someone did so regarding professional pianists.
  5. pete cosey 'The Chicago guitarist Pete Cosey, who died last Wednesday at 68, was far from a celebrity. Jazz fans know him for his distinctive work with Miles Davis in the 70s, but beyond that his name is unlikely to ring too many bells. Odds are that you've heard at least a little of his work, though, whether you know it or not. As a studio musician at Chess Records he played on some huge R&B hits, including "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass and "Summertime" by Billy Stewart. In fact, he probably played on hundreds of great records for Chess during the 60s, but because he was a musician for hire, part of the house band, his name rarely appears in recording credits.'

  8. i'm thinking it runs. it was in a different location last year for $1500. i would be really worried about that frame underneath. those oldsters often sag in half. i may call that number in a day or 2 just to be nosy. it's located in a hi-traffic area. the tires look reasonable.
  9. brilliant, but sadly true. an aside. 20 years ago when my knees were hurting really bad(i worked, mostly stood, on cement for 40 years), i against all logic, painfully began jumping rope daily. this didn't help the knees but built up the surrounding muscles and tendons. the knees don't hurt any more and haven't for years. my late wife's titanium knees were no bargain, but afforded her some mobility.
  10. the brick house on the hill, behind the car on the corner, dates to 1843.
  11. today's plastic disposable junk now won't rust, what with indestructible plastic glued together apple devices, nor will it ever be green again. what will our successors think, if we have any, when they unearth our plasticky landfills? "those strange people must have worshipped tiny plastic toys."
  12. Umpire really feel asleep on that one, geesh, at least make the player show you the ball in the glove.... that was the 3rd out of the inning. when that batter came out to field his position, he disputed the call, after watching a replay between innings, and was thrown out of the game by dimuro. his daddy, lou, was a longtime umpire. it must have been how junior got his job.

  19. bright red cars "Birds are more likely to bomb bright red vehicles than other colors, according to a British study reported in the Daily Mail. The researchers tallied vehicles in five U.K. cities and found red vehicles most marked with bird droppings -- 18% of them -- the report said. The color birds with least appeal for birds: green, at 1%."
