i enjoyed 2 jack walrath shows last night. he takes his gigging much more seriously than most artists. this is a lovely, lovely quintet. Jack Walrath - Trumpet Abraham Burton - Tenor Sax Orrin Evans - Piano Boris Kozlov - Bass Jimmy Madison - Drums i cannot give enough compliments of pianist orrin evans. his effortless mastery of the keyboard, fountain of ideas, and flat out ability to swing is a RARE delight.

c u acquires glenn miller archives The Glenn Miller Archive at the University of Colorado Boulder American Music Research Center has acquired one of the world’s most significant collections of Big Band Era recordings and memorabilia. The Ed Burke Collection – named for its shepherd and founder – contains approximately 1,400 reel-to-reel tapes containing hundreds of hours of live radio programs featuring virtually every musician of major importance during the Big Band Era. -
Yeah - But the man still averaged 48.5 minutes per game, 50.4 ppg, and 25.7 rpg. No one did it before him. No one's done it since. You can say what you want. It still doesn't take anything away from what the man did that year. 48.5 minutes per game. Who else will ever match that? agreed, paul.

when this gov't gets a hard-on for you, at best, they will wipe you out financially, and then they will retry you. that being said, the cancer society made a very poor choice for a spokesperson.

it seems to me that education may have been held in higher esteem at the time. the school buildings were built similar to the churches. the writings from the yearbooks and related high school musings of the time reveal, at least to me, a more formal writing and thinking style. -
esp-disk, always in trouble In 1964, Bernard Stollman launched the independent record label ESP-Disk' in New York City to document the free jazz movement there. A bare-bones enterprise, ESP was in the right place at the right time, producing albums by artists like Albert Ayler, Pharoah Sanders and Sun Ra, as well as folk-rock bands like the Fugs and Pearls Before Swine. But the label quickly ran into difficulties and, due to the politically subversive nature of some productions and sloppy business practices, it folded in 1974, and later restarted in 2005. Always in Trouble tells the story of ESP-Disk' through a multitude of voices - first Stollman's, as he recounts the improbably life of the label, and then the voices of many of the artists involved.

OLD SCHOOL 'old school' is a term with endless meanings. a visit to the mansfield public library herman room gave me 12 huge paperback volumes of prose and masterful photos from pre-1894, lovingly bound by dedicated local staffers and volunteers into a hard cover classic of perhaps the thickest paper i've seen, give us THE literal meaning..... these local remarkable school building photos are a tiny facet of the ARTWORK RICHLAND AND CRAWFORD COUNTIES published 1894 by W.H. PARISH PUBLISHING. -

Ralph Nader sent a letter to the New York Yankees complaining about the number of ads during games on WCBS-AM radio, saying they "disrupt the flow and excitement of the game broadcast and undermine your responsibilities as a guardian of the national pastime."
