    He's definitely worth catching live if you get the chance. I saw him around 5/6 years ago about the time of his first CD 'Be where you are' he was really good then & its sounds as if he's come a long way since.

    I've just ordered Basra from Amazon (UK) , now I'm beginning to wonder if I've done the right thing - whats going to happen to me when I play it??? Am I going to be pro war ? Anti? Am I going to want to sign up to army ? Shit I might go back & cancel the order quick I don't think I want to even to begin to understand the supernatural power of this CD!

  14. Marty , is this another sleevenote error? The select set has- (A) Jackie McLean, alto saxophone; Grachan Moncur III, trombone; Bobby Hutcherson, vibes; Eddie Kahn, bass; Tony Williams, drums. Recorded on April 30, 1963. Originally issued as ONE STEP BEYOND by Jackie McLean (Blue Note BST 84137). The alternate take of "Saturday And Sunday" was originally issued on the CD version of the album (CDP 7-46821-2)
