  1. Those who like "West Coast Jazz" will certainly want this delightful 2 CD set. It features a very wide range of most of the musicians who were important in that time period in California.
  2. This album was originally recorded under the leadership of trombone player Willie Wilson, but was never released. Later it was released as a Freddie Hubbard album. A more recent reissue is under Duke Pearson's name. Pepper Adams, and Lex Humphries also appear.
  3. This is a really good album. Bill Holman's arrangements fit perfectly with Zoot. The arrangement of the tune "Main Stem" is simply outstanding. As to be expected, Zoot's solos are terrific, and we also get a few very nice solos from Frank Rosolino.
  4. John Williams piano playing always reminds me of the piano playing of Eddie Costa. They both have a percussive style with similar phrasing.
  5. Though I have not checked every single track on the four CDs, it looks to me as if all the tracks are exclusive to this 4 CD set.
  6. Disc 1 of the 4 CD set. Featuring Harold Mabern Cedar Walton & Bruce Barth
  7. Beethoven - Piano Sonatas No, 8, 17, 21 - Andor Foldes
  8. Shirley Scott is a good jazz organist, but I especially like her piano playing.
