I have a copy of "Modern Jazz 1945-70 The Essential Recordings" , by Max Harrison, Alun Morgan, Ronald Atkins, Michael James and Jack Cook. I got my copy back in the late 1970's. It is a terrific book that I have consulted numerous times, especially in the first dacade or two after I got the book. Jazz Monthly was my favorite jazz periodical, and at one time I had every copy up until it ceased publication. The authors of the above book were all writers for Jazz Monthly. I was highly disappointed when that periodical stopped publication.
