Last weeks selections were not my thing. But this week you moved into my territory. Both the Kirk Lightsey and Mulgrew Miller albums are definitely recordings I like.
Have not heard the Hank Crawford , Jimmy McGriff but will check it out.

Though I respect Max who was a great and significant drummer, it is Blakey who is my main man. Art's playing could often excite me and bring a large smile to my face.
I subscribed to Jazz Monthly from about 1960 until it ceased publication. It was my favorite jazz periodical, and I was disappointed when it left the scene.
